Just don't hit on people you find attractive

This is a blog post about gender relations in the workplace. In particular, how should men treat women in the workplace?

The one rule: In the workplace, don't hit on people you find attractive; at any location, if you're doing business with someone you find attractive, do not hit on that person.

I used to think there were a lot of other important rules about how men ought to treat women in the workplace. There aren't. That is because there is only one relevant difference between men and women in the workplace: most men find women more attractive than they find men. So throw away every other rule you might have in mind. In other words, if you are a heterosexual man, then treat women the exact same way you would treat a man, and don't hit on them.
